The Lyons Fire Fund was founded in 2015 to augment the Lyons Fire Protection District (LFPD) budget for up-to-date equipment, facilities, fire prevention, training and community programs. The Fire Fund, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, will enable LFPD to provide the most advanced and efficient form of emergency services.

Why a Fund for LFPD?
The Lyons Fire Protection District faces a growing challenge as it strives to keep pace with new technology, equipment upgrades, and increased training needs. Additional funds are critical.

Much More than a Fire Department
Our volunteer firefighters do much more today than ever before, responding not just to house fires, but also to medical calls, vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, swift water rescues, wildland fires and natural disasters to name a few. LFPD provides a vital safety net for our residents in the Town of Lyons and the 67 square miles of the district spanning Boulder and Larimer counties. As a result, the skills and the toolboxes of today's firefighters are complex, requiring constant upgrades and improvements - all with a goal of maintaining an excellent level of expertise in response to incidents of all kinds. It's no longer just fire. It is all-risk emergency response.
